Your Host
One of Britain’s leading keyboard and synthesizer artists for over 20 years, Rick became an international star through his
globally successful group Yes and their string of huge selling albums. Rick also performs as a solo performer with his son Adam, and spends months every year on the road, touring the world. Most recently, Rick has forged a second career as a provocative regular on BBC TV’s hit show, Grumpy Old Men and has appeared on the satirical panel show Have I Got News For You as a guest. Rick hosts an annual golf day in aid of Sparks.
On the Day
- 8.00am onwards – Registration with coffee & bacon rolls on arrival
- 10.00am – Shotgun start 18 holes of golf
- 4.00pm – Prize Giving and Barbeque
- *7.00pm – Concert & Gala Dinner Evening begins (*Timings are an approximation, to be confirmed closer to the date)
- Dress code is customary golf club wear on the course and smart casual for the evening.
The Course
Burhill boasts two magnificent 18 hole golf courses, both offering a unique challenge to golfers of all abilities. The Old Course is listed amongst the top 100 golf courses inEngland, and the New Course once again hosted a Europro Tour event in June 2011.
The Tournament
Team Competition: Fourball Betterball Stableford (best two of four scores to count)
Handicap allowance: Men 24, Ladies 36
The Cost
£895 per team this includes complimentary tickets to the concert evening for all players. A team consists of either 3 amateurs and a celebrity captain (provided by Sparks) or 4 amateurs (no celebrity).
Extra tickets for the concert evening cost £65 each.
