Tiff Needell launches the Scumrun for Sparks

British racing driver and television presenter Tiff Needell is launching this four-day driving challenge on 3 May 2012 at Thruxton Motor Circuit.

Tiff, who currently presents Fifth Gear on Channel 5, will be putting Tiff Needellhis racing skills to good use, offering tips and advice to the 100 cars taking part in the action-packed journey across Europe. Participants will take on new challenges in mystery locations each day.

Tiff Needell said, “I am thrilled to be taking part in such an exciting event and I’m looking forward to meeting all the incredible teams involved. The medical breakthroughs Sparks make possible make a huge difference to children and families across the UK and across the world, so I am thrilled to be helping this hugely worthwhile cause.”

All team members must drive a car costing under £500, but are able to spend as much as they like modifying their car in preparation for the event. Teams compete for the coveted ‘Spirit of the Scumrun’ prize, awarded to the team combining the best fancy dress, most inventive car modifications and best sense of team work. A prize will also be awarded to the team raising the most for the charity.
