Sparks are delighted to have been chosen by a range of sports stars, to benefit from their testimonial years.
Simon Shaw is one of the most powerful forwards ever to play international rugby for England. He has been performing in the top flight of English domestic rugby for well over a decade after making his debut at 17, and won his first England cap in 1996. Simon played at Bristol before moving to London Wasps in 1997, going on to secure every domestic and international title with club and country. He proved immense throughout London Wasps’ brilliant 2003-2004 season, which culminated in a memorable Zurich Championship and Heineken Cup winning double. Simon was a member of the World Cup winning squad and was voted Zurich Player of the year in 2003 and, to date, has earned a total of 34 England Caps.

Leon Lloyd is another talented Leicester Tigers star who has made Sparks a beneficiary of his testimonial year. At 6ft 4inches and over 15 stone, Leon combines both exceptional power and pace whether playing as a winger or centre. He is that comparative rarity, a player equally at home in the 15-a-side and Sevens version of the game at international level. Tragically, an unlucky history of injuries has restricted the number of England caps the Coventry-born flier’s ability warranted, following his Tigers debut at the age of just 19 in 1996. But, despite that, Leon has chalked up some formidable achievements, including equalling the legendary Rory Underwood’s Tigers record of four tries in a single domestic cup tie, and scoring the winning try in Leicester’s first ever Heineken Cup Final. He was also a member of England’s 1999 World Cup squad, under his club skipper Martin Johnson, and has played for his country at Colts, Under 21, England A and full international level, as well as appearing for the Barbarians.
