Your chance for a once in a lifetime evening with rugby hero Martin Johnson CBE. We would like to invite you to join The Sportsman Club in honouring Martin Johnson with a Lifetime Achievement Award on May 18th in aid of SPARKS.
This intimate, exclusive evening is only open to 100 people (on a first come first served basis, for full details click here).
This event will be a combination of honouring Martin’s glorious rugby career and his tremendous work on behalf of SPARKS and the pioneering medical research that the charity funds with the aim of giving all children a winning start in life.
In the past The Sportsman – a favoured venue for famous sporting names over the years – has had a tradition of awarding Lifetime Achievement Awards to prominent sports figures. We want to revive this prestigious event at The Sportsman’s new home at Old Quebec Street and there could hardly be a more fitting person than a man whose inspirational leadership took England to World Cup Victory.
Join celebrities including Annabel Croft, Jill Douglas, Phil Greening, Alex Best, Martin Offiah, Alan Brazil, Jimmy Hill and a panel of rugby heroes as they share their stories of Martin. You’ll have an insider’s view of the life and career of the former England Captain.
This evening will include cocktails, fantastic food and the celebrity hosted awards presentation. After the presentation you will have the opportunity to meet Martin, have your photo taken and even have your complimentary copy of “Johnno’s Greatest Moments” signed by the hero himself. Then enjoy the excitement of the all new Sportsman’s Club. All this while supporting a great cause!
It was that early research by the NFPR that led to the development of a vaccine for polio that has virtually eradicated the disease worldwide. SPARKS contributed to that research.
The NFPR built upon this success, under the name of Action Research for the Crippled Child to fund research into other diseases. This research played a significant role in the development of the rubella vaccine and the discovery that folic acid can help counter the risk of babies being born with spina bifida.
Your ticket includes food, drink, gift bag and complimentary membership to The Sportsman.
