Our Trustees

Sparks is governed by its Board of Trustees who meet regularly to ensure that the charity has a clear vision, mission and strategic direction. The Board is made up of people with strong and diverse knowledge and experience which together helps to ensure that the right decisions are made to improve the quality of life for children affected by a medical condition.

Jonathan Britton is a Chartered Accountant with experience of leading global finance functions at both UBS and Barclays. During his role at UBS, Jonathan was a member of the Investment Bank Management Committee and the Group Management Board, and spent three years as Chief Operating Officer for UBS in Asia Pacific combining his finance expertise with strategic direction..

At Barclays, he was Global Controller from 2006 to 2008 and was responsible for Group Treasury in 2007 and 2008. Jonathan joined Lloyds Banking Group in January 2009 as Divisional Finance Director and Head of Strategy & Planning for the Wholesale Division. Educated at Keble College, Oxford Jonathan holds an MA in Engineering Science. He is married to a doctor and has 5 children.

Guy Gregory is married with one daughter and works as an Executive Director at CBRE, commercial property services. Guy joined the Sparks Trustees in 2006 after first being introduced to us through our popular golf events. Guy is now our Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee, in addition to hosting numerous fundraising events such as golf days and has twice run the London Marathon for us.

Julian Wilkinson is a partner in our international business group, specialising in compliance and advisory assignments for global corporates, particularly in the shipping industry. He also leads our UK forensic accounting services team and is a member of The Academy of Experts.

Julian has extensive experience of loss of profits claims and other commercial disputes. He has provided numerous expert reports for High Court and Arbitration proceedings and given evidence in Court in the UK and overseas. Julian is also a director of the London Shipping Law Centre.

David Orr is a commercial property and hotels entrepreneur who developed a hotel business for 16 years before selling it in 2011 to Private Equity. He is now Chairman at Fraser Giles Partnership; a Hospitality, Travel and Leisure Executive Search business and is establishing a new business as Urbanist Group.

David is married and has a young daughter called Eva and a disabled son named Cameron. David has been on the Sparks Board since 2007 and Chairs the Parent Advisory Committee, which provides parental perspectives on the potential benefit of Sparks research projects for a child and their family.
