Axis Foundation raises more than £50,000 for Sparks

The Axis Foundation presented Sparks with a cheque for more than £50,000 raised during the last year on 11 May at the London Golf Club.

The presentation took place at the first Alan Curbishley Charity Golf Day Sponsored by Axis Europe. The Axis Foundation is the charitable arm of property improvements and maintenance contractor Axis, which has supported Sparks in a number of ways throughout the year.

On the day, the Foundation donated the cheque for £52,751, which was raised by Axis staff during 2016, to help Sparks continue funding pioneering children’s medical research.

The golf day raised a further £20,000 for Sparks and Demelza Hospice Care for Children.

Despite wet weather the day before, the sun shone on the London Club’s Heritage Course, and the golfers and celeb captains had plenty to smile about.

Celebrity host for the event was Alan Curbishley and other famous faces on the course included Roy Hodgson, Ray Houghton, Sir Trevor Brooking, Clive Allen, John Ruddy and Ray Clemence.
