On Saturday 27th June, a group of Deutsche Bank employees took on the DeutscheBike One Day Ride event to raise money for their chosen charities of the year, Sparks and World Child Cancer.
Participants could choose between two challenging routes of either 60 miles or 100 miles. They started at the Velo Park in Stratford before heading into the Lee Valley and pedalling through the beautiful leafy lanes and open fields of rural Hertfordshire and Essex. There were plenty of rolling hills to test their legs!
Olympic rowing champion and Sparks supporter Tim Foster launched the ride before donning his lycra and joining the other cyclists.
So far the event has raised over £12,000 of which Sparks will receive £6,000 to help fund pioneering children’s medical research.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved for their hard work, dedication to fundraising and enthusiasm throughout the day!
