Matt Dawson’s Cardiff to London Cycle, two countries, two world famous stadiums, one day.

Join Rugby World Cup Winner, and Question of Sport captain, Matt Dawson MBE, as he cycles from the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff to Twickenham in London.

This epic challenge will see you cycle over 150 miles in just one day! Starting at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, the home of Welsh rugby we follow a coastal route out of Wales to the old Severn Bridge to cross over into England. When we reach England we skirt around the edge of Bristol before enjoying the wonderful countryside scenery of Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Berkshire, and finally Middlesex and our final destination, Twickenham Stadium, the home of English rugby.

Join Matt Dawson on his Cardiff to London Cycle for Sparks. We meet early at the Millennium Stadium in Central Cardiff, making the most of the long daylight hours ahead of us. We begin by passing some of the key landmarks of the city, including Cardiff Castle (Castell Caerdydd in Welsh), a medieval castle built in the 11th century by Norman invaders on top of a 3rd century Roman Fort. From the city the first 30 miles is mostly flat, with an ascent for the last few miles before we reach the old Severn Bridge. Once on the bridge, we cycle along the bike path into England, before starting the next stage of this cycling challenge.

For the next 50 miles the route becomes slightly more undulating. Following the rolling hills of the Cotswolds, and onto the North Wessex Downs – both known for their Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We then pass through the towns of Berkshire before following the route through Staines-upon-Thames and onto Hounslow, before dipping down to Twickenham Stadium, our finish line at sunset!
