On Thursday 3rd March, 250 Sparks supporters joined us for our 20th Annual Golf Dinner, held at the 5* London Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel.
The evening was hosted by Sky Sports’ Vicky Gomersall & TalkSports’ Mark Saggers with entertainment provided by one of Britain’s top comedians, Kev Orkian. We were also delighted to include a video message from Sparks Patron & 2016 Ryder Cup Captain Darren Clarke. Amongst the 250 guests were some famous faces who have frequently joined us on the golf course, including Kevin Whately, Derek Martin, Phil Brown, Ray Clemence, Stephen Hunt and Lawrie Sanchez.
Dave Windsor, father of Oscar, gave a speech about his family’s experience of Oscar’s oxygen deprivation at birth and the Sparks-funded cooling project Oscar was involved in. His talk received a standing ovation from the Golf Dinner guests.
The Sparks’ Golf Dinner raised over £60,000 which is an incredible amount and will go to helping fund pioneering children’s medical research. Thank you to everyone who attended and made it such a success. You can see photos of the night on our Flickr account.
