The golfers were treated to the Berkshire’s renowned Red Course, which is regularly voted in the top 20 of the UK & British Isles’ Top 100 golf courses.

This was the sixth year of the event, which is hosted and sponsored by long-term Sparks supporters, Martin Jepson and Graham Shreeves, and it raised £21,000 on the day. This brings the historical total of the event to over £100,000 raised for pioneering children’s medical research.

Martin Jepson said, “It was another great day and turnout from the teams and celebrities in support of Sparks. Myself and Graham are very proud to have helped Sparks surpass the £100k net mark solely from this event and support the pioneering research that will help develop vital treatments and cures for children and their families who so desperately need them.”

Our sincerest thanks to all who have helped contribute to the success of this event and special  thanks to this year’s hole sponsors: OAG, Lesterose and Deconstruct.

Among the famous faces on the day were Olympic swimmer Mark Foster, football legends Sir Trevor Brooking, Steve Coppell and Clive Allen, current Southend manager Phil Brown, and Geoff Shreeves and Alan Smith of Sky Sports.

The winning team were Blenheim House Construction. As well as overall winners, there were prizes for the longest drive, and ‘nearest the pin’ on each of the par 3 holes.
